Hi MCTs. These days I am proud to be a part of Microsoft Customer Support Services. It is among other things, that we support many charities. On of most notable ones is Malawi Citizenship Project. Please take a minute to familiarize yourself with this noble initiative:
Looks like there is/was water on Mars, and Curiosity just made it there, safely, to look around. So let's be curious, let's look for water closer to home as well. Let's find some clean water in Malawi! :)
Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) have started a citizenship project aimed at improving access to clean water for the population in TA Mphuka, in Southern Malawi. Only 22 % of the population in TA Mphuka has access to safe water (based on Government of Malawi standards). This means that the majority of people are fetching water from unsafe sources that carry the risk of disease. Diarrhea is very common in the area - particularly in children under five - its prevalence is exacerbated by poor hygiene and sanitation practices (only 26 % of households are currently using improved pit latrines).
This project aims to raise $45,000. That's enough to fund the installation of 10 new water pumps, providing access to clean water for 2,500 people!
